Antón Arriola, President of Kutxabank presents his latest book La travesía del Voga, accompanied by Pedro Miguel Echenique

The economist and President of Kutxabank, Antón Arriola, will be launching his latest book La travesía del Voga (The Voga Crossing), at a public event that is being held on 29 April at 7.30 pm, at the Sala BBK in Bilbao.

At the event, which will be presented by the Director of the Aula de Cultura of EL CORREO, César Coca, the author will be discussing the novel with Pedro Miguel Echenique.

Set on a sailing boat that is cruising the Mediterranean, La travesía del Voga combines intrigue, romance and deep philosophical reflections amidst a context in which the past and the future of humanity are intertwined.

What is the meaning of life? Can we slow down ageing? How long does love last? Can it last forever? Does eternity make sense? Can Artificial Intelligence become the secret to eternal life? These are the questions troubling Federico Poli, a successful financier on a voyage across the Mediterranean with a couple of friends and Sofia Costamagna, his childhood sweetheart. Looking for answers, he retraces the journey they completed forty years ago.

The publishing house Erein will be launching the republication of La travesía del Voga, winner of the 2015 Playa de Ákaba Prize for Fiction, as part of the activities taking place in EL CORREO’s Aula de Cultura.
